Did a couple of Prints for another totally awesome Guzu show inspired by iconic musicians and coinciding with ACL Fest this month. Seriously, I’m always impressed with their shows. A lot of heart and soul go into them and it shows… if you’re in town you should stop by. If you’re not in town, stop by their online store and peruse all the amazing work.
I had a lot of ideas rolling around in my head for the 80s show at Guzu. Here are a couple more illustrations that were under development.
“Looking through a book of drawings by Holbein I realize several moments of truth. A nose (a line) so nose-like. So line-like. And then I think to myself ‘so what?’ It’s not going to solve any of my problems. And then I realize that at the very moment of appreciation I had no problems. I have a couple of illustrations up at Guzu Gallery in Austin until the end of the month. If you haven’t been, Guzu is an awesome shop and gallery that’s part of the Austin Books family on Lamar. Local artists are features, as well as nationally renowned artists in themed shows. It’s just awesome.
